The Illinois Latino Initiative Leadership Conference – The Latino Vote, Politics & Public Policy, will take place on Saturday, October 4th, 2014 from 9 AM to 1 PM at Black Hawk College, 6600 34th Ave, Moline, IL 61265.

The event is sponsored by the Laborers’ International Union of North America (LiUNA) – Midwest Region.
The conference will include workshops on developing strategies for the development of future Latino leaders, Latino empowerment, voter registration, voter education, and Latino civic engagement.
The speakers who have been invited have shown through their words, actions, and legislation, their commitment to the working men & women of Illinois and to the Latino community.
Invited speakers include U.S. Senator Richard Durbin, Governor Pat Quinn, House Majority Assistant Leader Edward Acevedo, Congresswoman Cheri Bustos, State Senator Iris Y. Martinez, and State Representative Linda Chapa LaVia.
