The Illinois Quad City Chamber of Commerce and the City of East Moline are proud to present the 50th Annual AMVETS 4th of July Parade to take place on Friday, July 4th at 1 p.m. in downtown East Moline. This year’s theme is “Celebrating 50 Years of Tradition”. The 50th Annual AMVETS 4th of July Parade is sponsored by DHCU.
“The 50th Annual AMVETS 4th of July Parade marks a new milestone for the Quad Cities community,” said Kristin Burke, Marketing and Events Coordinator for the Illinois Quad City Chamber of Commerce. “This parade is a grand salute to all of the veterans that have served our country over the years”.
Over 15,000 people are expected to line 15th Avenue in East Moline to watch this salute to our country and our community. General Robert Radin will be the Grand Marshall for this year’s 50th year celebration. The parade will begin at 3rd Street and 15th Avenue, go down 15th Avenue and end at 13th Street.
Hola America and St. Ambrose University’s KALA Radio will join forces for the 5th consecutive year handing out candy, prizes, shirts and free music cds. This year dancers from the Quad Cities Ballet Folklorico will join in dancing along the parade. Look for Hola America, KALA, and the QCBF along a shiny new truck provided by Reynold’s Ford. Also look for floats from the Mexican America Veterans Association, THE National Bank, and more.
