Finally after about a 4 year hiatus, the Quad Cities Ballet Folklorico is proud to be presenting Mexican Fiesta 2008.  The group is composed of children and young adults between the ages of 6 and 18.  This event is the group’s main fundraiser for the year with a goal to earn enough money to try and recognize those dancers that have been involved and to continue to provide a positive pastime for the children throughout the Quad Cities area.  The fiesta is on Friday, June 13 at the Moline High School Auditorium, 3600 Avenue of the Cities, Moline.  The donation to the event is $7 for everyone 3 years of age and up.

The classes that the children take are free of charge to their families, and at times when costumes are needed the group tries to provide the costumes for the dancers that can’t afford them.  The group has been around for a long time and sustains itself with presentations done throughout the year, and with the kind and generous support of the community.

The Quad Cities Ballet Folklorico is a great program and provides an outside activity which teaches the importance of culture and being proud of one’s heritage.   The dancers have really been looking forward to this all year and they’ve been working extremely hard.   For more information please call (309) 792-8947 or (309) 762-0949.
