The Hispanic Professional Network held its second gathering at the new Habanero’s Mexican Restaurant inside South Park Mall on Thursday, Feb. 15. The event brought together over 60 professionals to this growing network. There were people from different backgrounds who work with the Hispanic community. Government employees, insurance agents,
writers, salespeople, bankers, accountants, and a long list of other professions were represented at this event.
The event was highlighted with a speech from Eva Savala, who has had a long history of working with labor unions and politics. In her speech she said it was wonderful to see so many educated professional Latinos. She described it as something that almost “made me cry” of joy. She also emphasized the importance of education for the betterment of the Hispanic community and said that she looks forward to seeing the first Hispanic president being elected.
“And I’m sure she will do a great job,” said Mrs. Savala.
The crowd clapped and laughed and after her speech prizes from the event sponsors were handed out. Afterward people networked and talked about the importance of working together. To find out more about the Hispanic Professional Network and future events log on to qchpn.com.
