Girl Scouts Beef Up for Hy-Vee Kids Triathlon

IronGirls Tri Club prepares to dominate Hy-Vee Kids Triathlon– May 27, 2014 (Bettendorf, Iowa) –Girls are invited to learn about, train and compete in the Hy-Vee triathlon this summer.  Girl Scouts of Eastern Iowa and Western Illinois is hosting a training club for girls in grades 4-12 to prepare for participation in the Hy-Vee Kids Triathlon in Bettendorf,  taking place August 16.

This four-week session begins July 21 and takes place at the Girl Scout Program Center in Rock Island, IL. Girls will work on triathlon skills: swimming, biking and running.
They will also learn healthy habits with workshops on nutrition, resistance training, and goal setting. Whether girls are looking to compete or just “tri” something new with their friends, they will have the chance to stay active and learn from some of the top athletes and coaches in the Quad Cities.

Spots are filling fast, so register your daughter today! To register, go to www.girlscoutstoday.org/event/irongirls-tri-club. Register before June 26 and save $5 if a current Girl Scout ($30) and $50 for non-Girl Scout members. Accompanying adults are free.
