It is possible that you know someone who is suffering from Epilepsy. The sad truth about this disease is that it cannot be cured with medication.

Those who suffer from Epilepsy have unprovoked seizures. This disease can affect children and elders. Although it is possible to control Epilepsy, it cannot be cured. Sometimes when Epilepsy becomes severe, some people have to undergo surgery. Seizures due to Epilepsy cannot be controlled with medication.

Some children that suffer from Epilepsy can develop emotional and behavioral problems. Some States do not permit people who suffer from epilepsy to drive. Some people that suffer from this disease have to limit many of their activities.

It is very important to learn about Epilepsy. We might have a family member, a friend or know of someone that might be suffering from this illness. It is also very important to support people who are struggling with this disease and thanks to the Epilepsy Foundation of North/Central IL, IA, NE everyone has the opportunity to show their support.

On March, 27 the Epilepsy Foundation will have its first Walk for Epilepsy. This event is important because not only will you show your support but those who attend will be able to learn more about Epilepsy.

Epilepsy is a scary disease because it affects at one of the most important organs of our body – our brain.

The walk will take place close to SouthPark Mall at the entrance of the Von Maur store. Registration starts at 9:00 AM, the Walk starts at 9:30 AM and it will finish at 11:00 AM.
