One of the most beautiful traditions that exists amongst Mexican believers is the celebration of the Day of Our Lady of Guadalupe or simply known as the Day of the Virgin (of Guadalupe). Every year various Catholic Churches of the Quad Cities offer a mass to celebrate and praise the Virgin of Guadalupe.

Currently the Catholic Churches of the Quad Cities are in the planning process for this day which is very important to all of the believers of Our Lady of Guadalupe. Saint Mary’s Church in Moline invites all of those who wish to participate in the organization of this annual celebration in honor of Our Lady of Guadalupe, to contact members of the committee for more information. The Church also extends its invitation to the rest of the community to be a part of this celebration by attending this event and/or helping with some type of donation. Everyone is welcomed to join the dance group as well. The event is to take place on December 13, 2009 at Saint Mary’s Catholic Church in Moline, Illinois.

If you would like to be a part of the organization of the celebration in honor of Our Lady of Guadalupe, be a part of the dance group, or perhaps you would like to make a donation, please contact Guadalupe Lopez at (309) 736-1548, Josefina Ortega at (309) 764-3073 or Maria Varela at (309) 762-6017.
