When you don’t qualify for the Olympics, most athletes go back to the gym, train harder and hope for another chance in 4 years.  If you’re Oscar Molina, instead of waiting, he traveled from his home in Southern California to Mexico and was entered in an Olympic-team qualifying event in Guatemala but unfortunately did not qualify for the 2008 Olympics in Beijing, China.

The 18 year old twin brothers, Javier and Oscar Molina would have been the first pair of twins in Olympic history to compete for different countries in the same Olympics.  According to Olympic rules, athletes are allowed to represent their parent’s home countries.  Javier will be the only Molina representing Team USA in the 141 pound weight class as his brother Oscar will most likely be in attendance cheering on his twin brother.
