“We as American voters must inform ourselves about where our candidates stand on the issues that matter to us and the Greater Quad Cities Hispanic Chamber of Commerce forum will help the voters do exactly that,” said Greg Aguilar, Political Forum Co-Chair for the event.
Mr. Aguilar is Co-Chair along with Maria Mier-Llaca, who has been working with Black Hawk College political clubs to get them involved in this unique event.
“The Greater Quad Cities Hispanic Chamber and Black Hawk College students have come together on a mission to educate the young voters and to encourage Hispanics to get involved in their civic duty to vote,” Maria said.
In addition to the confirmed participants other local county candidates will also be present. This event will offer a chance for Illinois voters to know where the candidates stand on the issues that matter to our region. There will be voter registration areas coordinated by the College Democrats, College Republicans and QC Voto Latino. The Association of Latin-American Students will also be assisting in this event.
Other event highlights include the presentation of flags by the Mexican American Veterans Association, singing of National Anthem and voter registration information.
