Hola America hosts the Mexican mobile consulate in the Quad Cities in partnership with the Consulate of Mexico in Chicago. The visit typically takes place at Bethel Wesley United Methodist Church, 1201 13th St. in Moline. It usually runs several days.
The consulate announces each visit separately. Hola America News then posts the confirmed date, address and appointment-opening time on its Facebook page as soon as the consulate confirms them.
Appointments are required and free
The Mexican Secretary of Foreign Affairs (SRE) books appointments for passport and consular ID processing at mobile consulate visits. Appointments are free. You can book online at citas.sre.gob.mx, or call 1 (424) 309-0009 from anywhere in the U.S. or Canada. For Moline visits specifically, appointments have historically opened the Thursday before the visit, at 2 p.m.
Illinois residents can complete more procedures than Iowa residents
At past visits, Illinois residents have been able to process passports, consular ID cards (matrículas) and voter credentials. Iowa residents have typically only been able to process passports at these visits. However, some recent sessions have also opened matrícula processing to Iowa residents. Because rules can change between visits, confirm current eligibility when you book your appointment.
No photos or photocopies needed, bring original documents only
Processing is digital, so applicants only need to bring their original documents. Staff handle photos and photocopies on site.
Hola America has hosted this visit for over 25 years
Hola America has partnered with the Mexican Consulate in Chicago for more than two decades. Together, they bring mobile consulate services to the Quad Cities and surrounding areas. As a result, more than 20,000 families have used these visits to get passports and consular IDs without traveling to Chicago.
