Celebrating Independence Day in East Moline

4th_of_july Independence Day in the United States is celebrated on July 4th with fireworks and parades. The city of East Moline featured a parade with politicians, businesses, motor bikes, a person doing back flips the entire parade, and diversity.

Spanish radio station, KALA 88.5 and 105.5 FM as well as the bilingual newspaper Hola America were a

part of the parade with members of both passing out candy, t-shirts, and newspapers.

The Vietnamese and African American communities were also present.Since the event commemorates independence, a lot of red, white and blue was present. Veterans from Hero Street were present as well as current military soldiers from the armed forces. The parade itself drew several thousand people who enjoyed the festivities of the day.
