Roles for ages eight and older
Storm Lake, IA-Buena Vista Community Theatre has announced auditions for its summer 2025 production of “Matilda The Musical.” This stage production of the classic novel by Roald Dahl includes roles for adults, teens and youth ages eight years and older. Actors, singers and dancers of all experience levels are encouraged to audition. Performances are June 27, 28 and 29, 2025.
Auditions are scheduled for April 11 and 12 with callbacks on April 13 at Roxy Theater in Alta. Audition times are set by ages:
April 11
- 5:30 p.m. — youth ages 8-12
- 6:30 p.m. — teens ages 13-17
- 7:30 p.m. — adults ages 18+
April 12
- 2:30 p.m. or 5:30 p.m. — youth ages 8-12
- 3:30 p.m. or 6:30 p.m. — teens ages 13-17
- 4:30 p.m. or 7:30 p.m. — adults ages 18+
April 13
- 12 p.m. — callbacks announced, if needed
- 6:30 p.m. — callbacks for all ages

Auditions will consist of some singing, reading from the script, and a little bit of dancing! Please bring your schedule with your availability for April, May and June. Practices will start after Easter and follow through the performances on June 27, 28 and 29.
Any girls/teens interested in the lead role of Matilda: we are asking you to prepare the song “Naughty” for auditions. No other preparation or requirement is needed for other leads, named characters or ensemble roles.
