STERLING, Illinois.– On May 5th, 2015 the Sauk Valley Area Chamber of Commerce’s (SVACC) Hispanic Business Leaders Committee (HBLC) will be offering a presentation given by LTC (Ret.) Consuelo Castillo Kickbusch at Centennial Auditorium in Sterling, Illinois. LTC Kickbusch has ties to the area as her father was employed at Northwestern Steel and Wire and her family lived in Sterling during the 1950’s. Known as “Silver City,” the boxcar settlement was an early home for Kickbusch’s parents and a source of inspiration for her visionary leadership.

Kickbusch is now a renowned charismatic, passionate and influential speaker all too familiar with the challenges of poverty, discrimination and illiteracy. Today, Consuelo tells her story by doing exactly what she preaches…living a legacy. This event will be a free presentation to the public and it is our hope that all sectors of the community attend. Doors open at 6pm and the presentation will be from 7–‐ 8pm. Information and photos about Silver City will also be on display for attendees to see.
