With Super Bowl 50 being only a few days away, when you hear the words, Pigskin Classic, you may think that might be a clever way of renaming one of the biggest sports days of the year. But, it’s actually the name of a growing fest in the Quad Cities.
The 2016 Bacon and Beer Festival: “Pigskin Classic” returns to the Davenport RiverCenter for its second year on Friday, Feb 5th. If there was ever a day to take a break from your New Year’s diet resolution, this would be the day! With plenty of samples of spirits from your favorite local establishments such as, Great River Brewery, Backpack Brewing and Lagunitas Brewing and bacon infused appetizers from area restaurants such as The J Bar and DJ’s Steakhouse, the only pork belly you will be thinking about when you leave will be your own. And if that wasn’t enough, there will be football-themed games you can compete in for a chance to win pork skin prizes.
