Augustana College will host the annual Shades of Beauty Summit Sunday, March 17, from 12:30 p.m. to 4 p.m. at the Gävle Rooms of the Gerber Center for Student Life, 3435 9 1/2 Ave., Rock Island.
Sponsored by the Augustana Office of Student Inclusion and Diversity in partnership with the Office of Student Life, this annual event celebrates all shades of beauty and is dedicated for women to share, discover, and celebrate their beauty.
This year’s theme is ”Barbie” and the event will include food, activities, giveaways and a panel presentation.
Shades of Beauty provides an event that reaches past cultural differences, uniting women and empowering them to love who they are, the way they are.
Panelists include:

- Rene Gellerman, President & CEO, United Way Quad Cities
- Nicole Watson-Lam, Founder & CEO, Ms Brimanis Hair & Beauty Supply and The Urban Reserve
- Elizabeth Kantner, Teacher, Longfellow Liberal Arts
- Xong Sony Yang, Director, Augustana College – Office of International Student and Scholar Services
