While local schools see uncertainty with state budgets, Ascentra Credit Union has allowed its members to help our schools, many of which are experiencing financial hardships.  From June through December of last year, all qualifying new auto loan recipients who mentioned the promotion were given $50 to keep for themselves and another $50 to be donated to the school of their choice.

The donations have been tallied up and our region’s school districts, colleges, and private schools recently received their surprise donation checks.  A total of $5,800 has been given out to schools throughout our region as part of the $50/$50 auto promotion from Ascentra.

“This is the second time we have directly tied a promotion into giving back to area schools,” President and CEO Dale Owen said.  “It is a great opportunity to get our members involved in our efforts to support education in our region.”

Recently, Ascentra presented the Davenport Community School District with $1,250, the Muscatine Community School District received $950, and the Moline-Coal Valley School District was awarded with $600. Schools from Bettendorf, Clinton, East Moline and many others throughout our region also received these unexpected donations.
