The Iowa Latino Heritage Festival is accepting applications from eligible high school seniors and college students.
DES MOINES, Iowa — Eligible Iowa high school seniors and college students can apply for a $1,000 scholarship through the Iowa Latino Heritage Festival. Applications close Aug. 31, 2026.
The program helps Iowa students continue their education. Applications opened Aug. 1, giving students one month to prepare their materials.
Scholarship organizers will consider each student’s academic record, leadership and community service. However, applicants must check the 2026 application for the full eligibility rules and document list.

Applications must be submitted by Aug. 31

The festival awarded 35 scholarships in its previous cycle
The Iowa Latino Heritage Festival awarded 35 scholarships during its previous cycle. Each award was worth $1,000.
However, the organization has not announced how many students will receive scholarships in 2026. The number of awards may differ from the previous cycle.
Festival proceeds help fund the annual program. Sponsors, donors and community partners also contribute. Together, those funds support educational opportunities for Latino students in Iowa.
