St. Anthony’s Festival to bring Mexican food and live music to Davenport Sept. 20

Davenport, IA — Gorditas, pambazos, Mexican enchiladas, live music and family activities will be part of St. Anthony’s Festival when it returns to downtown Davenport on Sunday, Sept. 20.

The festival will run from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at St. Anthony Catholic Church, 417 N. Main St. in Davenport.

Live entertainment will include Sonora Saron de Antonio, Tamborazo La Magdalena and Glenview Mariachi. Games and face painting will also be available for children.

Food will be a major part of the event, with gorditas, pambazos, Mexican enchiladas, aguas frescas, desserts and piñas locas among the planned offerings.

Festival proceeds will support McAnthony Window

Money raised during St. Anthony’s Festival will benefit McAnthony Window, the church’s community outreach program that provides meals and other assistance to people in need across the Quad Cities area.

McAnthony Window serves meals to more than 200 people five days a week. The program also operates a food and hygiene pantry, distributes clothing and connects residents with other community resources.

The program operates year-round from the St. Anthony Catholic Church campus on Main Street.

Sonora, tamborazo and mariachi will be part of the lineup

Live music will continue throughout the festival, with Sonora Saron de Antonio, Tamborazo La Magdalena and Glenview Mariachi scheduled to perform.

The event will also include an opportunity to enter for a one-week stay at a timeshare villa in Orlando, Florida.
