The 2026 ranking evaluates credit unions based on factors such as customer satisfaction, trust, financial advice, digital services, terms and conditions, and member service.

The ranking focuses on institutions that operate in 14 states or fewer and are not online-only providers. That gives regional and community-based financial institutions a place in the state-by-state comparison.

Institutions recognized in the ranking averaged more than 635 evaluations.

The credit union also appeared on the Best-In-State list in 2022, when it ranked No. 1 in Iowa, and again in 2023, according to Quad Cities Business Journal.

Linda Andry, president and CEO of Ascentra, said the recognition reflects the trust members place in the credit union and the connections it works to build in local communities.

“This achievement reflects the trust our members place in us and the meaningful connections we’re proud to build within our communities every day,” Andry said.

The ranking also comes as Ascentra continues expanding its regional footprint. The credit union broke ground in May on a new branch in the West End of Rock Island, a project connected to broader investment in that neighborhood.
