Central and southern Iowa will feel warmer and more humid heading into the weekend, with the strongest storm chances expected Sunday and Monday.

Des Moines, IA Iowa will get a calmer day Wednesday after strong winds moved through the state Tuesday, but warmer temperatures, humidity and storm chances are expected to build into the weekend.

The next round of rain chances will begin late Thursday as temperatures continue to rise. Thursday will stay mostly dry for much of the day, but scattered rain chances could develop later in the afternoon and evening, continuing into early Friday morning.
