The United States Postal Service has announced the release of a new commemorative stamp series honoring the vibrant culture of lowrider automobiles. The new Lowriders Forever stamps will be issued nationwide on March 13, 2026, highlighting a distinctive art form deeply rooted in Mexican American and Chicano communities across the American Southwest.
The commemorative pane will feature five unique stamp designs, each showcasing a different lowrider vehicle known for its elaborate customization, colorful paintwork, and intricate detailing. These vehicles represent a cultural tradition celebrated for creativity, craftsmanship, and community pride.
The stamps were designed by art director Antonio Alcalá, using photographs by Humberto “Beto” Mendoza and Philip Gordon, with decorative pinstriping added by artist Danny Alvarado. Each stamp highlights the striking visual style that has become synonymous with lowrider craftsmanship.

The Lowriders stamps will be issued as Forever stamps, meaning they will always be valid for the First-Class Mail rate regardless of future price changes. They will be sold in panes of 15 stamps and will go on sale nationwide beginning March 13.
Collectors and enthusiasts will also be able to request special first-day-of-issue postmarks, commemorating the official debut of the stamps. Requests must be submitted within 120 days of the release date through the Postal Service’s Stamp Fulfillment Services.
The release highlights the Postal Service’s tradition of honoring diverse aspects of American history and culture through its commemorative stamp program.
