Who you support and why?
I am supporting Barack Obama.  I care a lot about immigration and I believe Obama will be able to bring Congress together to enact immigration reform in a way that no other candidate could.  Obama’ ability to build consensus and rally popular support will be crucial in reaching out nation’s goals for health care, education, and energy independence.  I have no doubt that Obama will be successful in improving America’s relationship to other countries.  I also believe Obama’s multicultural background allows him to understand the immigrant and Hispanic experiences in a deeper way.

Are you going to participate in the Caucus?
Definitely,

If yes, will this be the first time you participate in the Iowa caucus?
I just became a citizen in 2005 and I will be caucusing for the first time.  This is a privilege I have waited over 10 years to exercise.  When I couldn’t vote, I would still attend the caucus and participate with campaigns I believed in.  Citizenship shouldn’t be a barrier for getting engaged and learning about the civic process.

esteban_loustaunauName: Esteban Loustaunau
Undecided between: John Edwards and Barack Obama
Why?: Loustaunau thinks none of the candidates will make change.
“Edwards and Obama have interesting ideas but can they convince Congress?,” he said. “Edwards is creating fear, using same tactic as Republicans. I’m not so sure if I’m going to like Edwards. Obama is fresh, hasn’t participated in previous elections and Hillary is of the old way of doing things.”

Name: Gilbert Sierra
Supports: None of them, he’s independent
Why?: His main issue is the war. “They change their votes all the time, you can’t trust them. Nobody can trust Hillary or Obama, it’s why Edwards has been getting a lot of support. (Mike) Huckabee has a lot of potential; he got the support of the Hispanic community in Arkansas. 100,000 jobs went their, 30,000 of them went to the undocumented. (Tom) Tancredo and (Duncan) Hunter scare me, Romney will say anything but until all these candidates wake up, don’t bring it up,” he said.
