We are inaugurating a new Health section, which we will try to better serve the readers of Hola America.  We will try to include topics of importance and interest that will benefit all families and the community.

When we talk about what Health means we all have a general or superficial concept. For many, Health is being fit physically and mentally. In 1946 the World Health Organization said, “ Health is a complete state of being fit physically, mentally, socially, and not only the absence of sickness or incapacity.”<\/p>\n

Even when this concept continues being true, today it has grown more extensively, the individual is thought of as a whole concept, therefore the definition of Health would be:  “The complete state of comfort; physical, mental, social, emotional and spiritual, no only the absence of illness or accident.”  Real health is much more than the light and common “ I’m fine” and that’s enough, real health has deeper roots and greater implications with productivity, affections, stability and happiness. <\/p>

Health is more than a mere medical concept, it’s a predominant social concept connected with attitudes, traditions and moral values of different groups and involves participation of all the society.  In the personal level it requires education of health hygiene and in the collective level it requires the participation of the public agencies to be able to fulfill the social needs of the community.   <\/p>\n

In conclusion, health is maintained by the science and practice of Medicine but it also requires maintenance and a self-effort through the things that we do or do not do, and the social, moral and spiritual values. By the society that put the human activity to the satisfaction of the basic need and put in many ways the moral and spiritual values.<\/p>\n

In this new section, we welcome you the reader of Hola America to actively participate by proposing themes of interest for everyone.  We, who collaborate in this work will appreciate your comments, questions and suggestions which you’ll be able to get to us either salud@HolaAmericaNews.com or (309) 269-3195.<\/p>\n

We are committed to give you the best possible information; in this task we count with the participation of Doctors and specialist in their fields who will be able to give you the best advice.  With all this we hope that this new section will be of benefit for our community. <\/p>
