After accidently poking her opponent, Vanessa Porto in the eye in the fourth round, the fight was stopped as Porto could not see. Porto was given the victory and making the situation worse for Gonzalez, Porto was crowned Invicta FC Flyweight champion as the vacant belt was on the line that night.

Tomorrow night on UFC Fight Pass, Gonzalez will have a chance to get back to her winning ways in Invicta and will face undefeated fighter Brogan Walker-Sanchez (6-0) in the main event of Invicta FC 37: Gonzalez vs Sanchez. “[Pearl] is really well known,” explained Walker-Sanchez. “And I’m hoping that this fight, with me showcasing my abilities, will take me to the next level.”

Advertisements

In 2018 when signing with Invicta, Gonzalez went 3-0 last year in the company before losing early this year via technical loss from that eye poke. So, as a rematch against Porto is on the mind of many for Gonzalez sometime soon, she knows that she must get through her fight with Walker-Sanchez first tomorrow night.
