The difference may have been in the voters who cited experience in choosing their nominee. The all important, female vote went Clinton’s way 46 percent over Obama’s 34 percent. The Dennis Kucinich (D-Ohio) campaign on his website, is asking for a recount citing potential irregularities in machine and hand counts. Kucinich plans on paying for it himself.

In the Republican Primary, McCain defeated Mitt Romney (R-Mass.) by five percent. Four out of five Republicans in New Hampshire, according to AP exit polls said the economy was the top issue and favored McCain. Those who favored immigration enforcement, tended to go towards Romney.

Michigan votes Tuesday, January 15 but the Democratic Party said they will strip the state of its delegates because they broke the election rules of having an unapproved primary before Feb. 5. The Republican Party has stripped it of half, its delegates. Nevada has a Caucus, Saturday, Jan. 19, South Carolina Republicans also vote that date, while South Carolina Democrats vote Saturday, Jan. 26. The first big state, Florida will vote January 29 with no Democrat delegates and half of its Republican delegates at stake.

Advertisements

ONLINE UPDATE Senators John McCain (R-Ariz.) and Hillary Clinton (D-N.Y.) were all but dead in their campaigns, after Iowa, finishing in a disappointing third place each.
