They would like to see more diversity of the Latin countries,\u201d Puentes said.<\/p>\n<p>Puentes was also on the stage to present the scholarships for the Viva Quad Cities scholarship recipients.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt warms my heart seeing all these young people wanting to pursue higher education. Last year we were fortunate enough to give forty different scholarships, this year the turnout as far as applicants wasn\u2019t as great but we have 17 wonderful recipients and we\u2019re just so happy to present them with a scholarship,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>Other featured events included a college fair, face painting in the children\u2019s area, Mexican folkloric dancing from the Quad Cities Ballet Folkroico, temporary tattoos, and even the Bettendorf Police Department on Segways which are scooters with 2 parallel wheels and a handle bar. Officer Bruce Schwaz who\u2019s involved in the fiesta for the second year said that it feels like your floating.<\/p><div id=\"holaa-78294512\" class=\"holaa-ad-inside-articles\" style=\"margin-top: 2px;margin-bottom: 2px;margin-left: auto;margin-right: auto;text-align: center;\"><div class=\"holaa-adlabel\">Advertisements<\/div><a data-no-instant=\"1\" href=\"https:\/\/hhs.iowa.gov\/health-prevention\/diabetes-prevention-management\" rel=\"noopener\" class=\"a2t-link\" target=\"_blank\" aria-label=\"Diabetes Spanish 300&#215;250\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/holaamericanews.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/05\/Diabetes-Spanish-300x250-2.jpg\" alt=\"\"  width=\"300\" height=\"250\"  style=\"display: inline-block;\" \/><\/a><\/div><br style=\"clear: both; display: block; float: none;\"\/>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s kind of a novelty piece, I don\u2019t have to walk,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>Araceli Mancerat attended the fiesta for the first this year at the Bettendorf location. She had been to it when it used to take place in Moline, Ill. She thing she liked the most was that the Hispanic people would get together.<br \/>\nHer son, Julian Mancerat got a wolf tattoo. Mr. Camarillo was honored for being selected this year and thanked everybody involved with Viva Quad Cities saying that Viva does the event for education, while picking diverse music and recognizing that it benefits the Latino community.
