Viva Quad Cities President, Luis Puentes said that two new dance groups will be featured on Saturday. One is Music and Dance from Brazil while the other is a Bolivian Folkloric Dance Group. This year\u2019s event also<br \/>\n<!--more--> marks the return of the 5k race that will be held on Saturday, September 8 beginning at 9 a.m. The event takes place on Friday, September 7 from 4-11 p.m. and Saturday, September 8 from 3-11 p.m. at the Isle of Capri Casino in Bettendorf, Iowa.<br \/>\n\u201cWe wanted to show the variety of the Latino community,\u201d Puentes said.<br \/>\nAs has been the case since the beginning, all the money raised will go towards scholarships for college students to further their education.<br \/>\n\u201cI think that\u2019s the whole premise of Viva,\u201d Puentes said. \u201cWe don\u2019t get paid for this. We help a lot of kids and that helps kids get ready for the next level.\u201d<br \/>\nThe scholarships are awarded during a presentation on Saturday at 7:30 p.m. There will also be activities for children, a college fair for students and plenty of food for the whole family.<br \/>\nThe musical entertainment and performances for Friday includes Los Mocambos, Smooth Groove, Sonido Estrella, Quad Cities Ballet Folklorico and the Color Guards.\u00a0 Saturday will showcase performances from Willy Gomez Con Cache Orquestra, Mariachi Mexico Vivo, Corazon Boliviano, music and dance from Brazil, and Sonido Estrella.\u00a0 Viva Quad Cities does ask people to bring their lawn chairs.<br \/>\nThere will be lots of opportunities to explore the Hispanic culture during the two day event with plenty of booths including ours Hola America Newspaper and KALA Radio 88.5 FM and 105.5 FM.
