The movie theater was not the only place you could find Harry Potter and friends on Friday, July 20th.\u00a0 Borders: Books, Music and Caf\u00e9 hosted the Grand Hallows Ball for the release of \u201cHarry Potter and the Deathly Hallows\u201d by J.K. Rowling.\u00a0 This is the seventh and final book in the series that follows Harry, Ron and Hermaine through their tales of friendship, love and death.\u00a0 Glow stick wands in hand, around 500 people of all
\n ages were in the store at 9 p.m. and store employee, Kathy Gimm predicted that, \u201cBy midnight when the book goes on sale, there will probably be over 1,000 people here.\u201d\u00a0 She also said that, \u201cThis is a much bigger turnout than all the other years we have done this.\u201d\u00a0 With a Potter Spelling Bee, a Great Snape Debate and a costume contest, it was like you had stepped in to Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry.
\nAlyssa DeLoach, from Davenport, Iowa, an avid Harry Potter fan, says that enjoys reading the Potter series.\u00a0 She also saw the latest Harry Potter movie, Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix, earlier that night.\u00a0 When asked to compare the two, she said, \u201cI like the books better because it gives more details.\u00a0 Sometimes the movies skip the good parts.\u00a0 I\u2019m not sad that the series is over because I have many more books to read.\u201d
\nHer mother, Benita DeLoach, said, \u201cI think it\u2019s really nice they do this.\u00a0 It doesn\u2019t appear that this is just for kids.\u201d
\nAs the costume contest went on, people of all ages clapped and cheered for each other.\u00a0 It looked as though Borders hosted a night of Potter madness.\u00a0 Now the only thing left is to read the book and see who lives in the end.<\/p>\n
