\"premios_juventud\"<\/a>Miami, FL–(HISPANIC PR WIRE)–July 20, 2007–A dazzling, effects-filled, industrial \u201cmusical factory\u201d was the setting for the fourth edition of Univision\u2019s \u201cPremios Juventud\u201d youth awards show at the BankUnited Center at the University of Miami.
\n\u201cPremios Juventud 2007\u201d gave awards in 27 unconventional categories. Among the night\u2019s biggest winners were international pop mega-sensation RBD, with five statuettes (\u201cI Hear Them Everywhere,\u201d \u201cCD to Die For,\u201d \u201cMy Favorite Concert,\u201d \u201cBest Ballad,\u201d and \u201cFavorite Pop Artist\u201d), Puerto Rican reggaet\u00f3n superstars Daddy Yankee and duo Wisin y Yandel tied with three awards each, Colombian singer\/songwriter Shakira, who received two awards (\u201cBest Moves\u201d and \u201cMy Idol\u201d) and motion picture\/recording artist Jennifer L\u00f3pez who
\n also received two awards for \u201cShe\u2019s Got Style\u201d and \u201cGirl of my Dreams.\u201d Other winners included the popular singer Alejandro Fern\u00e1ndez (\u201cFavorite Regional Mexican Artist\u201d) who also was awarded a special 15th Anniversary award, bachata artists Aventura (\u201cFavorite Tropical Artist) and Mexican supergroup Man\u00e1 (\u201cFavorite Rock Artist\u201d). In Sports, Mexican track and field phenom Ana Guevara (\u201cMost Electrifying Girl Jock\u201d) and countryman soccer star Rafael M\u00e1rquez (\u201cMost Electrifying Guy Jock\u201d) each received statuettes. The show\u2019s co-hosts, the stars of Univision\u2019s wildly successful novela \u201cLa Fea m\u00e1s Bella,\u201d Ang\u00e9lica Vale and Jaime Camil, welcome her as a fellow host.
\nKicking off the show, Cruz Mart\u00ednez, leader and keyboardist of the urban fusion group Cruz Mart\u00ednez presenta: Los Super Reyes, descends from the rafters onto the stage for their worldwide debut performance, featuring Mart\u00ednez singing for the first time ever. Maintaining his reputation for exciting entrances, Puerto Rican reggaet\u00f3n superstar Daddy Yankee flew down onto the stage among fireworks in a hovercraft and was joined by an army of dancing robots to perform his two hits \u201cImpacto\u201d and \u201cElla me Levanto.\u201d Later in another number, a set of cryogenic chambers come down from above the stage into a smoke-filled laboratory setting and opened up to reveal reggaet\u00f3n duo Wisin y Yandel joined by fellow artist Don Omar performing two exciting numbers for the first time ever together on television. In still another dramatic entrance, Romeo of Dominican bachata group Aventura is lowered down to the stage in a gigantic metallic heart to join the others amid a maze of industrial scaffolding for a performance of \u201cMi Corazoncito.\u201d Breaking the mold, Spanish pop star David Bisbal began his performance of \u201cAmar es lo que Quiero\u201d and \u201cTorre de Babel\u201d in a simple, intimate manner but finished the number being drenched in a cascade of water surrounded by dancers, much to the sold-out crowd\u2019s roaring approval.
\nIn what was the most emotionally charged moment of the evening, Mexican pop and ranchera star Alejandro Fern\u00e1ndez was honored with a special award honoring his 15th anniversary as one of Latin music\u2019s most popular recording artists.
\nThe finale of the program featured the night\u2019s biggest winners, international pop sensations RBD, performing \u201cB\u00e9same sin Miedo.\u201d<\/p>\n
