Proud dancers.&nbsp; Laughing children.&nbsp; Cultural Celebration.&nbsp; All of this could only describe the El Dia de Los Ninos\/El Dia de Los Libros celebration at the Davenport library on April 28th.&nbsp; From 10:00 A.M. until 4:00 P.M. everyone was welcomed to come to the library to celebrate children and children&rsquo;s literacy.&nbsp; Much to the children&rsquo;s pleasure, a magician did a walk around performance 9:30 A.M. to 10:30 A.M.&nbsp; From 2:00 P.M. to 3:00 P.M. people could be seen craning their necks to catch a glimpse of Ballet Folklorico of the Quad Cities.&nbsp; The talented dancers in traditional Mexican dress captivated a large, fascinated audience in the children&rsquo;s section of the library.&nbsp;&nbsp; Young and old enjoyed the talents of Los Macambos while having cake, <br \/>  <!--more--> punch, and other refreshments, from 11:00 A.M. to 1:00 P.M.&nbsp; Over five hundred people came to the event.&nbsp; Even the mayor came to say how happy he was to see a great, multicultural event.&nbsp; With crafts, whimsical maracas and flashy flowers, available the Davenport Library was prepared for the outstanding show up of over two hundred children.&nbsp; &ldquo;It was a great event, a great turn out.&nbsp; We were really glad that so many people came.&nbsp; We got a lot of compliments from people of the Hispanic community and we were glad, because we were trying to cater to them.&nbsp; We added books in Spanish to our book collection and we&rsquo;re going to add more books in other foreign languages.&rdquo; said Steve Hart, who helped to coordinate the celebration.&nbsp; The event was an obvious success.&nbsp;
