Black Hawk College hosted the 13th annual International Festival on Sat. April 14 featuring international dances, a fashion show, food, and desserts. Several hundred people came in and out of the event to enjoy the show. The dances featured samba<\/p>

and tango to name a few from the America\u2019s, Chinese and Polynesian dances from Asia, a servillana dance from Spain and a Norwegian fashion show featuring a Viking for Europe. African dances and songs were also at the event.
\nSome of the booths featured Scottish history, intercultural exchanges, and a Mayan center for children of disabilities.
\nBob Nakamaru, a retired Black Hawk College instructor lived in Guatemala. Nakamaru helps out in the Mayan center. \u201cI loved Guatemala,\u201d he said. \u201cThey are the same size, same skin color as me, I just like them.\u201d
\nBlack Hawk music major, Jeff Roland found out through genealogy research that his real last name was De\u2019Roland but the name was changed by an ancestor. \u201cIt\u2019s just different from the medieval time,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
