On a previous edition of Hola America we stressed the importance screening; the following provides more information about screening. As a result of the importance of a child screening, Child and Family Connections will be sponsoring a
\n free vision and hearing screening for children four months old to the age of three years at St. Mary\u2019s Catholic Church, 412 10th S. in Moline, Ill on Thursday, April 12 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.The American Academy of Otolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery said that approximately two to four children out of 1,000 in the United States are born deaf or hard or hearing. This problem can be treated if found at an early date.The same thing goes with vision, as the University of West Virginia Vision Initiative for young children said that children are not able to tell adults about bad vision and if their problems are not treated early could lead to significant vision problems.Most children will not fail either exam but it is always better to be safe than sorry. In the event that a follow up appointment is required, the events hosts Lisa Viane and Xotchitl Herrera said they would help those in need with language barriers or just or even to tag along for an appointment.<\/p>\n
