\"ifl_at_the_mark\"<\/a>Once again local Mixed Martial Arts fans get the chance to experience the explosive action of the International Fight League as the world\u2019s first team based league returns to the Mark of the Quad Cities on Saturday, April 7 with an 11-bout card beginning at 7:30 p.m.\u00a0 Local favorites and defending champions, The Silverbacks, coached by Pat Miletich take on Ken Shamrock\u2019s Lions, a team based in Reno.\u00a0 The roster also features the Seattle based Tiger Sharks,
\n led by MMA and kick-boxing champion Maurice Smith, facing the Chicago Red Bears who are coached by Igor Zinoviev.\u00a0 Following the team fights, popular lightweights Jeff Curran and Kevin English face each other for the Superfight.
\nMiletich\u2019s Silverbacks team won the 2006 IFL World Team Championship but they now find themselves in a must win situation to make it to the playoffs.\u00a0 Their record is 0-1, 2-3 individual and will be depending on welterweight Rory Markham, heavyweight Ben Rothwell, and lightweight Bart Palazewski.\u00a0 Former UFC light heavyweight Sam Hoger will fill in for the injured Mike Ciesnolevicz, against the very tough Vernon White of the Lions.\u00a0 Shamrock\u2019s Lions (1-0, 3-2) include undefeated heavyweight Roy Nelson and lightweight John Gunderson, who won his past eight MMA matches.
\nA win is a must for the Tiger Sharks (0-1, 2-3) and Red Bears (0-1,1-4), to make it to the postseason.
