Dennis will step back into the ring January 22nd at Casino Del Sol in Tucson, Arizona exactly 8 months after his ESPN Boxcino Heavyweight Tournament loss to hard hitting Andrey Fedosov.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>  <!--more-->  <\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Dennis\u2019 plan is to redeem himself and prove to the boxing community that he belongs in the heavyweight division as he challenges another hard punching prospect in New York\u2019s undefeated Jarrell \u201cBig Baby\u201d Miller 15-0-1 (13). Dennis and his trainer, Nile Pe\u00f1a, plan on changing his game plan compared to the Fedosov fight where he seemed to fade in the later rounds. \u201cI didn\u2019t pace myself.\u201d explains the young heavyweight. \u201cI fought every round like it was the last round. I can\u2019t do that this time. I plan on slowing down picking my shots and out boxing him.\u201d<\/p><div id=\"holaa-2606566901\" class=\"holaa-ad-inside-articles-2\" style=\"margin-top: 2px;margin-bottom: 2px;margin-left: auto;margin-right: auto;text-align: center;\"><div class=\"holaa-adlabel\">Advertisements<\/div><a data-no-instant=\"1\" href=\"https:\/\/www.desmoinesperformingarts.org\/whats-on\/series\/summerarts\" rel=\"noopener\" class=\"a2t-link\" aria-label=\"HI-SummerSeries-300&#215;250-SP\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/holaamericanews.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/06\/HI-SummerSeries-300x250-SP.jpg\" alt=\"\"  width=\"300\" height=\"250\"  style=\"display: inline-block;\" \/><\/a><\/div><br style=\"clear: both; display: block; float: none;\"\/>\n<p>Dennis will take is 12-2 (10) record into the \u00a0main event of \u00a0this Showtime ShoBox televised event in hopes of capturing \u00a0the WBA-NABA Heavyweight Title and bringing it back the Quad Cities. \u201cThis win should put me up there high in the rankings.\u201d Dennis explained about his move towards a title fight.<\/p>\n<p>Miller is an undefeated power punching heavyweight who was a finalist in the New York Golden Gloves and an accomplished K-1 kickboxing champion before turning pro and putting together an impressive undefeated record. \u00a0Miller has 13 knockouts in his 15 wins and Dennis has stopped 10 of his 12 opponents so this heavyweight bout looks to be a war for both fighters. Dennis simply put his plans to showcase his boxing skill and outwork Miller. \u201cGo out and outbox the other guy and don\u2019t get into a slugfest. We are both the same size so it should be a good even fight.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Dennis is no stranger to tough competition. \u00a0Last year he stopped undefeated Steve Vukosa \u00a0and knocked out WBO Asia-Pacific Heavyweight champion Razvan Cojanu, both televised on ESPN. \u00a0The Davenport southpaw has recently been a sparring partner for Golden Boy Promotions heavyweight contender Dominic Breazeale of California and looks for this fight with Miller to be his break out fight to get his foot into the heavyweight mix.<\/p>\n<p>The Quad Cities have not seen a world champion since the days of Michael \u201cSecond To\u201d Nunn and certainly have not dreamed of having a heavyweight champion from the QC, but Donovan Dennis has those dreams. \u201cWith this win I look to be knocking on the door for a shot at the title\u201d he says.
