The Quad Cities Ballet Folklorico is a very well known dance group in the Quad Cities. \u00a0More than 30 years ago Arnulfo Camarillo started this group and since then hundreds of children have danced and performed, but more than anything shared the Mexican culture through dance with the rest of us.<\/p>\n

For many years they held an annual recital at Moline High School with their last presentation there in 2004. Next month the QCBF will be back at MHS with their 2015 Recital.<\/p>

Support this great dance group by going to their 2015 Recital that will be at 6:00 PM December 19th at the Moline High School Auditorium. The event will start with a silent auction and the performers will delight the audiences with their dances starting at 7:00 PM. The ticket price for the recital is $10 for adults, $5 for youth 18 years or younger and it is free for 2 year olds and younger.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe 2015 Recital will be a 2 hour performance showcasing a variety of different states and eras of Mexico. We will also be debuting new material which was taught by a visiting instructor from the University of Guadalajara,\u201d Ray Terronez, QCBF director, explained.<\/p>\n

For more than three decades the Quad Cities Ballet Folklorico has shared the Mexican culture through the art of dance. Support their good work and plan to attend the 2015 Recital on December 19 starting at 6:00 PM at Moline High School Auditorium, located at 3600 Avenue of the Cities in Moline.<\/p>

The \u201cCintas\u201d dance Its a type of traditional song, meaning ribbons – there are different variations throughout different states in Mexico- It can be from Yucatan, Veracruz, or even Puebla \u2013 this one is from the state of Veracruz.\u00a0<\/p>

\u201cCintas\u201d is a very intricate dance and the Quad Cities Ballet Folklorico has only performed it once in their 30 years.\u00a0<\/p>\n

On the Recital 2015 they will bring it back.\u00a0<\/p>
