Cinco d\u00edas despu\u00e9s, estaba de regreso en Guatemala, un lugar que ya no reconoc\u00eda.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cYa llevo como cuatro semanas, tres semanas desde que llegu\u00e9 aqu\u00ed\u201d, dijo Pedro v\u00eda Zoom durante una conferencia de prensa virtual organizada por el presidente de la junta directiva de Escucha Mi Voz, el reverendo Guillermo Trevi\u00f1o. \u201cYa no es lo mismo. Poco despu\u00e9s, la Oficina de Aduanas y Protecci\u00f3n Fronteriza de EE. UU. emiti\u00f3 \u00f3rdenes de deportaci\u00f3n aceleradas para ambos, pero solo su padre fue deportado, seg\u00fan explic\u00f3 Tim Farmer, exabogado de inmigraci\u00f3n de Pedro, al Des Moines Register.<\/p>\n<p>A Pedro se le otorg\u00f3 una orden de supervisi\u00f3n, que le permiti\u00f3 vivir temporalmente en EE. Ten\u00eda 13 a\u00f1os cuando lleg\u00f3 al pa\u00eds, se estableci\u00f3 con sus abuelos en West Liberty y comenz\u00f3 la secundaria. Pedro fue deportado recientemente a Guatemala.<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/figure>\n<p>\u201cNunca comet\u00ed ning\u00fan delito\u201d, afirm\u00f3.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cJam\u00e1s falt\u00e9 a una sola cita con ICE durante los siete a\u00f1os que viv\u00ed all\u00ed\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>En su \u00faltima cita del 1 de julio, Pedro fue informado de que exist\u00eda una \u201corden de deportaci\u00f3n\u201d. Sorprendido, intent\u00f3 hacer preguntas, incluso si pod\u00eda ver a un juez, pero asegur\u00f3 que fue ignorado.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMe dijeron que no hab\u00eda nada que hacer\u201d, coment\u00f3.<\/p>\n<h2>La familia de Pedro no sab\u00eda que hab\u00eda sido deportado<\/h2>\n<p>Tras su detenci\u00f3n, Pedro fue llevado a la c\u00e1rcel del condado de Muscatine, donde inform\u00f3 a su familia lo sucedido.<\/p>\n<p>Relat\u00f3 que el 4 de julio fue trasladado desde la c\u00e1rcel, primero a Cedar Rapids, luego a Des Moines y posteriormente a Nebraska. Desde all\u00ed abord\u00f3 un vuelo hacia Luisiana, donde estuvo brevemente detenido antes de llegar finalmente a Guatemala.<\/p>\n<p>Pedro recuerda haber aterrizado a las 9:22 a.m. del 7 de julio. Lo primero que hizo fue buscar un tel\u00e9fono para llamar a su familia. No hab\u00eda tenido contacto con ellos durante cuatro d\u00edas.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cNo sab\u00edan d\u00f3nde estaba ni qu\u00e9 me hab\u00eda pasado\u201d, relat\u00f3.<\/p>\n<h2>\u201cSi Dios me da la oportunidad\u201d, Pedro volver\u00eda a Iowa<\/h2>\n<p>Durante una manifestaci\u00f3n reciente en Cedar Rapids, el abuelo de Pedro, Francisco Pedro, declar\u00f3 ante unas 200 personas que su lucha a\u00fan no ha terminado. En espa\u00f1ol, expres\u00f3 que sigue buscando respuestas sobre por qu\u00e9 deportaron a su nieto.<\/p>\n<p>Trevi\u00f1o, quien tradujo las palabras de Francisco al ingl\u00e9s, asegur\u00f3 que Pedro \u201cno hizo nada malo\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cFue a la escuela.
