Jes\u00fas \u201cChuy\u201d Garcia has served on the Cook County Board of Commissioners since 2010. In 1986, Garcia was elected to the Chicago City Council, and in 1992, he became the first ever Mexican-American member of the Illinois State Senate. Garcia ran for mayor of Chicago in 2015, forcing a run-off election between himself and incumbent, Rahm Emanuel.<\/p>
