The location has been changed because of pending construction on the city\u2019s river bridges.<\/p><div id=\"holaa-3162939550\" class=\"holaa-ad-inside-articles-2\" style=\"margin-top: 2px;margin-bottom: 2px;margin-left: auto;margin-right: auto;text-align: center;\"><div class=\"holaa-adlabel\">Advertisements<\/div><a data-no-instant=\"1\" href=\"https:\/\/www.desmoinesperformingarts.org\/whats-on\/series\/summerarts\" rel=\"noopener\" class=\"a2t-link\" aria-label=\"HI-SummerSeries-300&#215;250-SP\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/holaamericanews.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/06\/HI-SummerSeries-300x250-SP.jpg\" alt=\"\"  width=\"300\" height=\"250\"  style=\"display: inline-block;\" \/><\/a><\/div><br style=\"clear: both; display: block; float: none;\"\/>\n<p>Organizers also have decided to create an annual theme for the festival, which will be announced in March, along with details for the annual poster contest. Poster designs will be due April 1, 2016. Each year, dozens of Iowa college students apply to have their design selected as the one that will be used for the printed materials that publicize the festival.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\" alignright size-full wp-image-3168\" src=\"http:\/\/166.62.41.2\/~holaamericanews\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/10\/LHF%20001.jpg\" border=\"0\" alt=\"\" align=\"right\" width=\"410\" height=\"200\" \/>\u201cWe had a great festival this year and look forward to unveiling new attractions for attendees in 2016,\u201d said Joe Gonzalez, executive director of Latino Resources Inc., the umbrella organization that oversees the festival. \u201cWe\u2019re very excited about hosting the festival in a new venue and hope it\u2019ll draw even more to attend.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>This year\u2019s civic engagement booth, where there was information about how to register to vote, how voting works, voters\u2019 rights issues, and about the Iowa Caucuses, drew hundreds of people. The political soapbox was particularly popular.
