In this position, he has helped revitalize the council and raise public awareness of the role LULAC has played in the Quad Cities for more than 55 years.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 12.1599998474121px; line-height: 1.3em;\">Reyes has been appointed as the new state director of LULAC-Iowa. His appointment will be approved by the state board at its quarterly meeting on Aug. 8 in Iowa City.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 12.1599998474121px; line-height: 1.3em;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\" alignright size-full wp-image-2976\" src=\"http:\/\/166.62.41.2\/~holaamericanews\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/07\/mARY.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"410\" height=\"200\" align=\"right\" border=\"0\" srcset=\"https:\/\/holaamericanews.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/07\/mARY.jpg 410w, https:\/\/holaamericanews.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/07\/mARY-300x146.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 410px) 100vw, 410px\" \/>Mary A. Campos of Des Moines received the Senior Award. Campos is deputy state director for the elderly. She has proven her deep commitment to the welfare of Latinos and Latino youth, and has a long history of being involved with and protecting the rights of Latinos.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><em style=\"font-size: 12.1599998474121px; line-height: 1.3em;\">Founded in 1929, the League of United Latin American Citizens is the oldest U.S. Latino civil rights organization.
