When you think of some of your favorite culinary concoctions that go together, you may think of peanut butter and jelly, macaroni and cheese and biscuits and gravy. \u00a0But there is a new pairing of two great American classics that may have those all beat, and it\u2019s coming to Davenport, IA.\u00a0<\/p>\n

On Saturday, April 11th, The 2015 Davenport Bacon and Beer Festival is taking over The RiverCenter in downtown Davenport and Jade Events Co- Director of Events, Pennie Fike is excited to bring this succulent soiree of swine and spirits to the area.\u00a0<\/p>

\u201cIt\u2019s a great opportunity for people to come out and try some of the local craft beer and a great opportunity for the local chefs to have some face time with their patrons as they show how they put their spin on what makes bacon so exciting and fun,\u201d explained Fike. \u00a0\u201cIt\u2019s a match made in hog heaven.\u201d \u00a0<\/p>\n

Samples will be available from surrounding breweries in Amana and Galena as well as Quad City local favorite Great River Brewery. \u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s really great to see people supporting local restaurants and local breweries,\u201d said Fike. \u00a0\u201cWe love being able to tie in with the local community.\u201d \u00a0<\/p>\n

Doors open at 4:30pm for the general public and 3pm if you purchase a VIP ticket. \u00a0\"\"<\/p>

Along with the unlimited drink and food samples and commemorative pint glass that comes with the general admission, if you purchase a VIP ticket, you also get a commemorative event t-shirt, access to the VIP lounge and a 90 minute early entry. \u00a0<\/p>\n

Music for the event will also be provided by the River Music Experience.\u00a0<\/p>

\u201cI really believe this event is great for the community to try new things and where the Quad Cities can come together and hang out for an afternoon,\u201d said Fike. \u00a0\u201cAnd you really couldn\u2019t love anything more than bacon.\u201d \u00a0<\/p>\n
