Synopsis: A young Mexican-American veteran’s personal view of World War II is told through the letters he sent home to his family in Silvis, Illinois. \u00a0He becomes one of eight veterans of WWII and the Korean War killed in combat from the same block-and-a half long neighborhood now called Hero Street, USA.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

Four historical re-enactment roles are available:\u00a0<\/p>

1) Mexican-American male, early 20s, dark hair, fit;\u00a0<\/p>\n

2) Mexican-American female, slender, age 11-14, longish dark hair, Spanish speaker a plus;\u00a0<\/p>\n

3) Female Mexican-American female, late 40s, medium build, Spanish-speaker a plus;\u00a0<\/p>\n

4) Male Caucasian, age 18-21.\u00a0<\/p>

The 30-minute documentary film is produced by WQPT-PBS Lora Adams and Emmy-nominated filmmakers Kelly & Tammy Rundle of Fourth Wall Films. \u00a0<\/p>\n

Auditions will take place on Saturday, October 18, 2014, 9AM-Noon. Call back auditions will take place on Tuesday, October 21, 2014. \u00a0<\/p>

Filming will take place in Moline, Illinois and surrounding areas on November 2, 15-17, 2014.\u00a0<\/p>\n

This is a non-union production. \u00a0Some pay, screen credit, and a copy of the DVD when it is released. \u00a0Actors will be responsible for their own transportation to and from the filming location(s). \u00a0The documentary will be released early in 2015 with a premiere broadcast on WQPT-PBS, screenings and a national DVD release.<\/p>
