There are a lot of people in this world who truly affect others making them into better persons. For more than 16 years Jeff Perez, a coach and a founder of Alley Cats Boxing, had been a person who has helped many kids to find a better way in life.<\/p>\n

Jeff Perez started Alley Cats Boxing in his garage. Many kids passed through there and thanks to good guidance from Mr. Perez many of them living well and working hard.<\/p>

Mr. Perez assures that now he can help even more kids in his new gym. The new Alley Cats Boxing Gym is located at 1862 16th Street in Moline. It was some time in the making, but everything worked out well at the end. Jeff Perez told us that through real estate agent he met an owner of the building who wanted to a have gym in his building. Even though Mr. Perez met with the owner, things stalled. After some time passed Mr. Perez and the kids he coaches got together and went to clean out the space. \u00a0Former boxers of Mr. Perez worked alongside the new kids. They painted walls, built boxing ring and moved equipment.<\/p>\n

“Now we have more space so more kids can come,” Mr. Perez expressed his hopes.<\/p>\n

Mr. Perez is very proud of all those kids he helped, and he hopes having a bigger place will give him a chance to help even more kids in the future.<\/p>\n

“It is nice to see older ones come back with their kids,” Mr. Perez said.<\/p>

\"\"Jeff Perez does not charge a membership fee. Alley Cats Boxing welcomes everyone, girls and boys alike. Children have to be 8 years old to train and participate in competitions. Alley Cats Boxing does not charge anything for boxing equipment and when they travel to competitions with kids, young boxers do not pay hotel stays. The only payment aspiring boxers need to make is $65 for a boxing license. Mr. Perez is only looking to help kids occupy their free time with things that are positive and that require hard work, but that, at the end, will make them feel well accomplished.<\/p>\n

“I feel I’ve done well over years. I’m glad to be able to reach out to more kids,” Mr. Perez told us about the opportunity of having a bigger gym.<\/p>

A lot of people go through life without making too much of difference in the lives of others, but Jeff Perez is a different kind of man. For more than a decade he has been helping kids to choose a better path in life from his garage, now Alley Cats Boxing got a nice and more spacious place where the new generation of boxers can train.<\/p>\n

Also, mark your calendar to come to their annual fundraiser boxing show on October 25 at Local Union 25 Plumbers and Pipefitters located at 4600 46th Ave, Rock Island, IL. There will be teams from Elgin, Nebraska, Davenport, Aurora, St. Louis, and others. The ticket is $7 in advance and $10 at the door.
