Organizers expect this year\u2019s festival to attract the largest crowd yet to the event, which has become the most widely attended cultural event in Iowa.<\/p><div id=\"holaa-2426646693\" class=\"holaa-ad-inside-articles-2\" style=\"margin-top: 2px;margin-bottom: 2px;margin-left: auto;margin-right: auto;text-align: center;\"><div class=\"holaa-adlabel\">Advertisements<\/div><a data-no-instant=\"1\" href=\"https:\/\/www.milb.com\/iowa\/tickets\" rel=\"noopener\" class=\"a2t-link\" target=\"_blank\" aria-label=\"Hola Iowa 5&#215;5 copy (1)\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/holaamericanews.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/04\/Hola-Iowa-5x5-copy-1-e1776430527225.jpeg\" alt=\"\"  width=\"300\" height=\"300\"  style=\"display: inline-block;\" \/><\/a><\/div><br style=\"clear: both; display: block; float: none;\"\/>\n<p align=\"justify\">The state\u2019s Latino population continues to grow. There are now more than 158,000 Latino residents in Iowa, which is a 92 percent increase from the 2000 U.S. Census, according to the State Data Center of Iowa. Latinos now represent 5 percent of Iowa\u2019s 3 million residents. By 2040, the Latino population in Iowa is projected to reach 430,344 residents, which will comprise almost 13 percent of the state\u2019s population.<\/p>\n<p align=\"justify\">JoAnn Mackey, executive director of Latino Resources, the nonprofit umbrella group that oversees the festival, started the statewide event 11 years ago as a way to celebrate the contributions from the more than 22 Latino countries that are represented in Iowa.<\/p>\n<p align=\"justify\">The festival has grown each year, and now thousands attend it to experience the rich and varied Latin-American cultures and traditions found in Iowa.<\/p>\n<p align=\"justify\">There also is a children\u2019s area, where kids can makes crafts, break pi\u00f1atas every hour, play on free inflatable rides and watch &#8220;Lucha Libre,&#8221; a drama about villains and heroes that is very popular among children and adults.<\/p><div id=\"holaa-978054387\" class=\"holaa-ad-inside-articles\" style=\"margin-top: 1px;margin-bottom: 2px;margin-left: auto;margin-right: auto;text-align: center;\"><div class=\"holaa-adlabel\">Advertisements<\/div><a data-no-instant=\"1\" href=\"https:\/\/yourlifeiowa.org\/locations?&#038;utm_campaign=FY2026_OD2A_MOUD&#038;utm_content=Recovery_is_Possible&#038;utm_medium=banner&#038;utm_source=iowa_newspaper_association\" rel=\"noopener\" class=\"a2t-link\" target=\"_blank\" aria-label=\"287-10024_MOUD_300BannersF_es-US_LaRecuperacion_01\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/holaamericanews.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/06\/287-10024_MOUD_300BannersF_es-US_LaRecuperacion_01.jpg\" alt=\"\"  width=\"300\" height=\"250\"  style=\"display: inline-block;\" \/><\/a><\/div><br style=\"clear: both; display: block; float: none;\"\/>\n<p align=\"justify\">There will be entertainment all day long both days at the Simon Estes Amphitheater. The individuals in each booth are either from or descendants of that country or are very well educated about the country, its culture and traditions.
