LULAC Council #10 Davenport, Iowa will be holding its 55th annual Fiesta Saturday September 13, 2014 from 4:00 PM \u2013 11:00 PM.\u00a0 Its membership is currently seeking queen candidates for its contest, who will be selected at this annual event.\u00a0<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

This contest is open to any young Hispanic female age 15 \u2013 21 from the Quad City area.\u00a0 Those persons wishing to be a contestant can contact Sally Rangel or Sandy Sweetland, at 563-210-9883 for an application and further information.\u00a0 Candidate must be registered by June 30th 2014.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 This event commemorates the declaration of Independence of Mexico from Spain in 1810 as well as Hispanic Heritage Month.\u00a0 2013 LULAC Queen, Assata Caldwell, a student attending Iowa State University was crowned in front of a crowded LULAC Fiesta.<\/p>
