DAVENPORT, IA\u2014 Western Illinois University-Quad Cities and six local community organizations will host a reception to support scholarships for minority students who attend WIU-QC. The reception is scheduled from 5-7 p.m. Thursday,\u00a0April 18\u00a0at the Rhythm City Casino in Davenport.<\/p>\n

Community partners participating in the event include 100 Black Men of the Quad Cities, Davenport Council 10 League of United Latin American Citizens (LULAC), Greater Quad Cities Area Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, NAAPC Rock Island County Branch, NAACP and VIVA Quad Cities.<\/p>

Cost to attend is\u00a0$20\u00a0per person. The event will include refreshments, entertainment provided by The Westbrook Singers and a silent auction. All proceeds will benefit scholarships for minority students at WIU-QC.<\/p>\n
