Natalie Zarowny joined WHBF-TV News Channel 4 in Rock Island as a reporter this June.<\/p>\n

The new job is her first since graduating from Emerson College in Boston, but she\u2019s far from a newcomer to the broadcast news business. Zarowny grew up in the Chicago area, where both her mother and stepfather work in broadcast news.<\/p>

\u201cI always knew that I wanted to do something that involved talking to people,\u201d says Zarowny. \u201cI love the idea that every single day is different.\u201d<\/p>\n

Born in Miami into a Cuban family, Zarowny is fluent in Spanish. She looks forward to doing more stories about how national immigration policy is affecting Latinos locally.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m excited to be somewhere with a big Hispanic community and there\u2019s not many Hispanic people in the media in the Quad Cities,\u201d says Zarowny.<\/p>\n
