Extreme Challenge MMA returned to the Waterfront Convention Center on Saturday night and the show definitely did not disappoint.\u00a0 It was an especially good night for the Miletich Fighting System fighters as they won all their fights with two of the four getting awards.\u00a0 The final four fights of the night featured MFS fighters as lightweight Jake Klemme won in the first round versus Cody Larson. <\/p>\n

It was at the end of the first round that Klemme really shined as while he was on the back of his opponent, Klemme landed a few open hand strikes to Larson\u2019s face.\u00a0 After turning his head to get direction from his corner, Klemme landed a monstrous body shot as he sunk his arm under the neck of Larson securing the rear naked choke.\u00a0 Nate Rodriguez added one more win to his undefeated winning streak as he defeated Rakim Cleveland via rear naked choke.\u00a0<\/p>

The first round started off with both Rodriguez and Cleveland trading kicks, with Rodriguez almost finishing the fight in the first round by way of guillotine.\u00a0 It was in the second round that Rodriguez tripped Cleveland and sunk in the rear naked choke for the win and also received the Fight of the Night award.\u00a0 \u201cYou train so hard for eight weeks, getting this award makes it so much better,\u201d said Rodriguez.\u00a0 \u201cI just need to keep working and keep getting better at everything and keep working up the ladder to get to the UFC.\u201d\u00a0 In the co-main event of the night, Clint Anderson made quick work of opponent Jake Palmer as he pulled off yet another win via triangle choke, also taking home some hardware for Submission of the Night.\u00a0 \u201cI have so many versions of the triangle, that nobody really knows what route I\u2019m going to take,\u201d explained Anderson.\u00a0 \u201cThis is my fourth Submission of the Night award and I love them.\u00a0 It gives me the self confidence that my submissions are good and it validates how I feel.\u201d\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n

The main event of the evening featured the Super Fight Series Semi-final match between MFS fighter, Chuck Pieritz and Sinjen Ruby.\u00a0 It didn\u2019t take long for the action to heat up as Pieritz hip tossed Ruby and smothered him on the ground.\u00a0 As the action got back to its feet, Ruby landed a huge kick to Pieritz dropping him, but it was in the last second of the round that Pieritz quickly spun into an armbar forcing Ruby to tap.\u00a0 \u201cWe drill those sequences and transitions in the gym every day,\u201d said Pieritz.\u00a0 \u201cIt was pretty effortless.\u201d\u00a0 Pieritz will now face Team Evolution\u2019s Royce Arnold in the final.\u00a0 \u201cWe are going to look at Royce and see what he\u2019s got,\u201d said Pieritz. \u201cAnd work on getting better from there.\u201d<\/p>\n
