Celebrating its 10th<\/sup> Year.  <\/b>In the ten years since its inception, Iowa\u2019s Latino Heritage Festival in Des Moines has grown into<\/p>\n

the largest ethnic festival in the state of Iowa through the connections it has made among Latinos, who want to celebrate their culture, traditions, and customs. And individuals who just love the culture and the foods. <\/p>

\u201cWe strive to make sure everyone has a great time throughout the 2 days,\u201d says JoAnn Mackey, executive director for Latino Resources, Inc. the non-profit entity that coordinates Iowa\u2019s Latino Heritage Festival. \u201cWe add new activities and entertainment every year to keep it fresh.\u201d<\/p>\n

Iowa\u2019s Latino Heritage Festival is becoming an Iowa tradition. Plans are on their way to produce another event that is guaranteed to offer the community another family oriented, fun filled day packed with information of the Latino traditions and culture through music, dance, food, arts, and over 15 country exhibits.\"Festival_Latino_2\" Attendees will see entertainment all day, network with over 100 exhibitors. In the children\u2019s area they can break pi\u00f1atas, create crafts, play on free inflatable rides, and watch \u201cLucha Libre\u201d which will once again thrill everyone, from grandmas who cheer for their favorite hero, to children who boo the bad guys. It will be a spectacle,\u201d says festival chair, Paula Mackey. \u201d And don\u2019t forget the food area!  The event offers a rich variety of traditional foods.  <\/p>\n

Iowa\u2019s 10th Annual Latino Heritage Festival will be held the weekend of September 15th and 16th on the downtown bridges of Des Moines on Locust and Walnut. The festival is only $1 for children 12 and under, Adults $5 <\/p>
