Esto significa que un ni\u00f1o con un resultado de plomo en la sangre igual o mayor a 3.5 mcg\/dL tiene un nivel de plomo m\u00e1s alto que la mayor\u00eda de los ni\u00f1os examinados.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">El envenenamiento por plomo puede causar da\u00f1o al cerebro y al sistema nervioso del ni\u00f1o, problemas de conducta, anemia, p\u00e9rdida de la audici\u00f3n, da\u00f1o hep\u00e1tico y renal, hiperactividad, convulsiones, retrasos en el desarrollo y, en casos extremos, la muerte.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Cuando se encuentra plomo en el organismo de un ni\u00f1o, es importante eliminarlo lo m\u00e1s r\u00e1pido posible para evitar que ocurran impactos en la salud a largo plazo. \u00bfQu\u00e9 se puede hacer para sacar el plomo? Primero, es importante identificar y eliminar la fuente de plomo del entorno del ni\u00f1o. La mayor\u00eda de los ni\u00f1os en Iowa se envenenan con plomo debido a su contacto con pintura deteriorada a base de plomo y suelo contaminado con plomo.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Reparar los peligros del plomo no siempre es una opci\u00f3n para las familias de bajos ingresos. Sin embargo, existen muchas formas econ\u00f3micas de reducir o eliminar las fuentes de plomo en el hogar. Una de ellas es bloquear o cubrir los peligros de la pintura a base de plomo con otros objetos (muebles) o materiales no peligrosos (pintura sin plomo). Incluya los juguetes (peluches) y otros objetos que utiliza el ni\u00f1o.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> Lave las manos del ni\u00f1o con agua y jab\u00f3n.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> Proporcione una dieta bien balanceada rica en hierro y calcio como frijoles, vegetales de hojas verdes, frutas, cereales y productos l\u00e1cteos, entre otros. Una nutrici\u00f3n adecuada ayuda a que el organismo del ni\u00f1o elimine el plomo m\u00e1s r\u00e1pido.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Los ni\u00f1os de 6 a 12 meses de edad se envenenan con plomo r\u00e1pida y f\u00e1cilmente, sus niveles son m\u00e1s altos entre los 18 y los 36 meses de edad.
