{"id":1746,"date":"2012-08-04T13:41:01","date_gmt":"2012-08-04T13:41:01","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/166.62.41.2\/~holaamericanews\/2012\/08\/04\/beautiful-bix\/"},"modified":"2012-08-04T13:41:01","modified_gmt":"2012-08-04T13:41:01","slug":"beautiful-bix","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/holaamericanews.com\/es\/beautiful-bix\/","title":{"rendered":"Beautiful Bix"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>With all the focus on the Olympics this past week, a few Quad Citiens took to the streets in Davenport and went on a run last Saturday morning.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>  <!--more-->  <\/p>\n<p>18, 138 people to be exact, and it was no ordinary morning jog.<\/p><div id=\"holaa-1662791555\" class=\"holaa-ad-inside-articles-2\" style=\"margin-top: 2px;margin-bottom: 2px;margin-left: auto;margin-right: auto;text-align: center;\"><div class=\"holaa-adlabel\">Advertisements<\/div><a data-no-instant=\"1\" href=\"https:\/\/www.desmoinesperformingarts.org\/whats-on\/series\/summerarts\" rel=\"noopener\" class=\"a2t-link\" aria-label=\"HI-SummerSeries-300&#215;250-SP\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/holaamericanews.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/06\/HI-SummerSeries-300x250-SP.jpg\" alt=\"\"  width=\"300\" height=\"250\"  style=\"display: inline-block;\" \/><\/a><\/div><br style=\"clear: both; display: block; float: none;\"\/>\n<p>The Quad City Times Bix 7 is now in the books and the weather couldn\u2019t have been any better.&nbsp; With record highs the past few months and with the first Bix at 6 training run being canceled due to a heat advisory, there was some talk about how hot the actual race day would be.&nbsp; We couldn\u2019t have been more wrong as the temperature was in the lower 70\u2019s for most of the race, and if you are a runner like myself, that is perfect running weather.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Local runner, John Sierra didn\u2019t have a lot of time to train for this year\u2019s Bix, but still beat his time from last year.&nbsp; \u201cMy training was very brief this year due to my work schedule, working long hours and then when I got off, it was still hot out.&nbsp; I could only practice twice before the actual race,\u201d said Sierra. \u201cThe weather was great this year especially compared to last year.
